About Omi Doula
Omni means water in Yoruba - a symbol of life, flow, healing, and transformation. It honors the sacred waters of the womb and birth. The place where new life begins and old patterns can be released. The name reflects not only the physical essence of birth but the emotional and spiritual journey of becoming.
At Omi Doula Birth & Wellness, the name is a living connection to my research, identity, and calling.
A practice informed by research. My doctoral research explored how slavery's historical trauma still impacts Black maternal health today. This work is more than academic- it is personal, cultural, and generational.
Omi Doula was born out of that truth: A commitment to restoring what was interrupted- Black birthing traditions, community care, and self-determined Wellness.

Our Core Values
Cultural Reverence
We honor the deep African roots of birth work and reclaim traditional care models that are holistic, and community- based.
Integrity & Ethical Care
We provide transparent, respectful, and inclusive support that upholds each client's autonomy and dignity.
Holistic Wellness
We nurture the full person -body, mind, spirit- through practices rooted in rest, nourishment, and generational healing.
Resilience and Resistance
We stand against systems that harm birthing people, especially Black women, and serve as part of the movement to create safer, more equitable birth experiences.
Sacred Presence
We show up grounded, compassionate, and fully present, understanding that birth is both clinical and spiritual, physical and emotional.

Vision
To reclaim and restore birth as sacred, culturally-rooted, and empowering experience -especially for Black birthing people- through care that is grounded in ancestral wisdom, evidence-based practice, and radical compassion.
